Launched in December 1997, the BookFinder Insider mailing list is one of the best ways for online booksellers -- particularly those specializing in used and rare titles -- to keep up with the industry. It's an open forum for booksellers and active book buyers to compare listings services, discuss professional practices, share bookselling news, etc.
List traffic is high, averaging about 50 email messages a day. List participants range from high-end ABAA types to kitchen table booksellers just entering the trade.
Common topics include: the minutiae of media mail / book post policy, signature authenticity, what the influx of low-priced titles means for the industry, software for booksellers, changing policies at online listings services, upcoming bookfairs, etc. (And of course there's also some off-topic blather too, on subjects like chicken puns, dirty keyboards, proposed punishents for virus authors.)
If you're an online bookselling professional (or just want to find out more about the industry), consider subscribing to the BookFinder Insider. Your inbox will never be empty again.
