It's really sad in this day and age that there are any challenges at all.

Chris

I think a challenge in a general library is foolish, as people can make informed decisions about the material they wish to bring home. In all fairness though, some books have no place in a children's library. This is based on the same principle as there are some video games and some TV shows that are not appropriate for children. And, if it is not appropriate for a child, why would it be in a library specifically geared for a child?
This is not to say any of the books available to children that were challenged in 2008 were inappropriate. However, it is important to be watchful of what children are being taught and experiencing.

I am looking for information on an artical written by Burton Linne in May 1984 called "Perfection Of The Socialization Of America". I have an 8 page report, but am curious if there is a book or further pages of this artical.

John Mcglothlen

I have the artical by Linne and there are 20 pages. Interesting reading but slightly out of date. I could send it to you if you like. JSM
